WYOMING SHRINERS NORTH –- SOUTH GAME MISSION

The only post season high school football game that showcases the best of the best players in all of Wyoming’'s footballs conferences. The players and coaches are all- stars.

What makes it so special is its true purpose –helping to support Shrines Hospitals. Every year since 1974, the North – South Game has been played to raise money for Shrines Hospitals and to help make the public aware of the expert orthopedic and burn care available free of charge at Shriners Salt Lake Childrens Hospital or the other 21 Shriners Hospitals for Children.

To date, the game has raised more than $450,000.00 for the Shriners Childrens Hospitals and has helped inform thousands of Wyoming citizens about the mission of this extraordinary philanthropy. The players themselves regard the game in a special light, as they learn the true purpose of the game during a pre-game visit to the Salt Lake Shriners Hospital. There, they visit with patients and take to heart the game’s slogan, "“Strong legs run so that weak legs might walk”."

To be a dynamic fraternal organization dedicated to attracting and retaining men of good character by being committed to providing progressive quality programs and services for our members, their families and friends in a spirit of fun, fellowship and social camaraderie.

SHRINERS HOSPITALS FOR CHILDREN MISSION STATEMENT

It is the mission of Shriners Hospitals for Children to:

• Provide the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and certain other special health care needs within a compassionate, family-centered and collaborative care environment.
• Provide for the education of physicians and other health care professionals.
• Conduct research to discover new knowledge that improves the quality of life of children and families.

This mission is carried out without cost to the patient or family and without regard to financial need or relationship to a Shriner.

The hospitals provide pediatric specialty care to children with orthopaedic
conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate. All care and services are provided regardless of the patients’ ability to pay.
